Dr. R. Preston Gelhart. Dr. Gelhart is an Emeritus Professor of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. He is also a licensed Educational Psychologist and former Director of Psychological Services for learning centers in Newport Beach, California. Previously, he held appointments as Department Chairman and Professor of Special Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and an Assistant Professor of Special Education at Northern Colorado University. He also has held numerous positions as a consultant to school districts, State Departments of Education and the U.S. Office of Education. Today he remains active in consulting, speaking engagements and writing, and is the Chairman of the Forensic Psychology program at four campuses of Argosy University. In addition, he continues his private forensic activity services.

Dr. Heather Star Gelhart is currently a psychology professor and mentor at California Southern University. She is also a former high school English teacher. For eleven years she owned and was the Executive Director of a learning center in Newport Beach, California. Heather has her masters in psychology from Pepperdine University and her doctorate in counseling psychology from Argosy University. She taught developmental and general psychology at Cypress College in Cypress, California, and taught child growth & development at Saddleback College. In addition to teaching at community colleges, she taught child and adolescent counseling and maladaptive behavior in the masters program at Argosy University.
